Delivering the ambition: Planning for the 21st Century

A Question Time-style debate discussing some of the key planning issues and challenges being faced in the UK today. See photos from this event in the gallery. Debate topics included:

  • What are the challenges facing planning in the 21st century?
  • What are the key issues for the UK today?
  • Are there any special or particular challenges for the West Midlands?
  • What future scenarios and choices could be presented?
  • What roles and responsibilities should spatial planning play in delivering the ambitions for the future?
  • How should we prepare ourselves to meet the challenges that will be presented?
  • Are there any special ways of working that deserve to be developed?
  • Are there any further lessons from the work of the RTPI Education Commission?
  • What more can initial professional education and lifelong learning do to help to deliver the ambition?
